Disable the Sudden Motion Sensor on a Mac Laptop

The Sudden Motion Sensor is designed to protect your Mac hard drive in the event of a computer being dropped or an unusually strong vibration. Essentially what it does is park the hard drive head when movement is detected, which prevents it from potentially scooting across the disk surface and scratching or otherwise damaging the drive or drive head.

Upgraded RAM on MacBook Pro – Geekbench Results

So today I received my memory upgrade kit from Crucial for my MacBook Pro.  Initially when I bought the MBP I went with the stock memory and harddrive, knowing that I would upgrade these myself at a later date.  Apple’s upgrades are too expensive.

“hash” # key missing on Apple MacBookPro?

My first day on the Apple MacBook Pro and was playing around with ‘Numbers’ and wanted to insert the hash (#) symbol in the text.  For the life of me I couldn’t see the symbol anywhere on the keys of the keyboard.

After playing around for a while, I finally found it.  Alt + 3.  Simple when your find it, but frustrating trying to look for it.  I wonder how many other querks I’ll find in the next few weeks as I slowly transition from Windows to Mac.

Just to recap, Alt + 3 to enter the # symbol.
